Overview
Externally funded projects constitute a key component of CRSC research portfolio. The Center personnel work on many extramural grants and contracts awarded to CRSC by various entities. The extent of such external support has been increasing over the time the CRSC has been active, with new contracts and awards being granted every year. The sponsors of CRSC research projects include both Government agencies/laboratories and private companies.
Among the organizations of Federal Government that provide support to CRSC are National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Defense (DoD) and its subsidiaries, such as the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) and Army Research Office (ARO), United States — Israel Binational Science Foundation (BSF), and others. Among the many private industries that support our research work are pharmaceutical (Pfizer), biotechnology (Syngenta), and defense companies (ADED, LLC).
The extramural research funding helps the Center in its key mission of maintaining and expanding its internationally recognized research programs in scientific computation and their integration into the broader science and engineering enterprise.
